The weather was perfect. NYPD did the cooking, Snapple handed out juice, a DJ with a fondness for ’80s hip-hop made the music, passersby buzzed among the food tables and displays, and the rest of us ate and schmoozed our way through another fun National Night Out.
Most important, we all had an opportunity to reinforce the NNO message of claiming and reclaiming our public spaces to take a bite out of crime. UWS CERT shared the preparedness message and promoted our September 20 Ready New York event.
Other NNO participants included OEM, EMS, New York Road Runners Club, Central Park Skate Patrol, NYC Parks Department, ASPCA, and New York Blood Center.
UWS CERT had a table at both Manhattan locations: one at Columbus Circle (see photos below) and another at Verdi Square.
