CERT, New York-Presbyterian Hospital Conduct Overflow Drill

On the morning of Tuesday, December 21, Upper West Side CERT (Manhattan District 7) joined with CERT from District 12 in setting up a light medical overflow response location in a drill run in conjunction with New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

The CERT volunteers picked up victims lightly injured in an explosion scenario from the hospital’s emergency room on West 168 Street, and treated them at an emergency center set up at the offices of Community Board 12, a block away. This allowed the emergency room to concentrate resources on treating more severely injured people.

Nan Canter and Dan Zweig were the UWSCERT volunteers, with Nan serving as the CERT Incident Commander for the drill.
