New Graduates Join the Ranks of NYC CERT

NYC CERT graduates from Manhattan

The Manhattan graduating class met at Norman Thomas High School for their training.

On January 6, 2010, the NYC CERT family grew by 78 as new graduates from Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens were welcomed by city officials at a ceremony hosted by the New York City Police Academy. Deputy Mayor Ed Skyler, OEM Commissioner Joe Bruno, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, newly appointed FDNY Commissioner Sal Cassano, Queens Borough Manager/Queens 10 Team Chief Peter Ticali, and student representative Steven Toro, Bronx 7, were all on hand for the celebration. Volunteer team members from Manhattan 6 NYC CERT assisted with check-in and hosting.

The spring training cycle is scheduled to begin in early March. Click here to learn more about NYC CERT eligibility and training.
